About Me

So I’m gonna give this whole blogging thing another try. I’ve thought about blogging a bunch of different times, but each time I concluded that my thoughts weren’t interesting enough or too private. Now, I’ve decided that neither of those things are true. (And if it turns out that nothing I write is interesting, then the worst that could happen is that you’ll have accidently read a boring blog post. I’m okay with that.) I have a wide variety of interests that I’d like to write about, and hopefully I’ll A) have fun, B) teach somebody else something cool, and C) learn from other people through comments.

A little about me: I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. That is primarily how I identify myself. All of my posts will come from the viewpoint of a Christian who wants to learn more about God and the world. I’m also an academic nerdy type, so most of my posts will consist of nerdy stuff. I’m not as much of a theology buff as some of my friends, but I consider theological study a vital part of my thought life. I LOOOOOVE languages. I can’t explain why, other than to say that my Maker wanted me to be that way. I’m currently considering going to grad school for linguistics. I speak (fairly) fluent Spanish, and I want to learn Japanese, Alur (an obscure East African language), and Ancient Greek among other languages. Right now, I’m an undergrad at Southwestern University majoring in Spanish and English. I sing in choir, which is a lot of fun, and allows me to interact with people on a daily basis who know a crap load more about music than I do. I’d consider myself an introvert; being the center of attention usually isn’t my thing, and that can sometimes get in the way of me doing stuff God’s calling me to do, but it also gives me a unique perspective on life, I think.

I guess that’s all you need to know for now. The rest will come through different posts I write. Hope you enjoy!
